To my respected friends and colleagues,
I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits as the holy month of Ramadan begins. It is a time of reflection, devotion, and community—one that holds profound meaning for many of us.
I wanted to share with you my personal decision regarding Ramadan this year. After careful consideration, I have chosen not to participate in the fasting aspect due to health concerns related to my labor-intensive job. This role requires my physical strength and mental clarity, both of which are vital to perform my duties effectively and safely. In previous fasting experiences, I have noticed a significant impact on my performance, experiencing slowed reactions and occasional lightheadedness which could endanger not only my well-being but also the quality of my work and the safety of those around me.
I hold the teachings and values of our faith close to my heart, particularly the call to be a good, moral individual. I am firmly dedicated to embodying these principles in my daily life, offering respect, kindness, and help wherever possible. My commitment to being a constructive member of our community remains steadfast, and while I may not join in fasting, please know that my support and solidarity for the community endure.
During Ramadan, I plan to stay actively involved in our communal events and charitable endeavors, contributing positively without compromising my health. Whether organizing iftars or providing assisting hands in different capacities, my intention is to ensure that I am there for our community in meaningful ways.
I extend my deepest respect and understanding to all who observe this sacred time. Fasting or not, I stand with you in the spirit of Ramadan, cherishing our shared values and the sense of togetherness that this month brings.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and blessed Ramadan.
Sincerely,
Mh
